KOALA Tech Inc. received the prestigious Distinguished Paper Award at SID Display Week 2024, held in California, USA, in May 2024.

SID (The Society for Information Display) is the world's largest display-related academic society, and Display Week, sponsored by SID, is an annual event for companies, universities, and research institutes to announce the latest technologies in the industry.
The title of the award-winning paper is "Realization of an Organic Semiconductor Electroluminescent Device with High Directionality and Color Purity". Organic Light-Emitting Diodes (OLEDs), which are typical organic semiconductor light-emitting devices, cannot emit light with high directionality and narrow spectrum width like lasers. By inheriting the basic device structure of OLEDs and combining our unique material design technology and device design technology, we have successfully achieved high directionality with a divergence angle of 1.1 degrees and high color purity with a narrow spectral width of 2.5 nm.

The device that was successfully demonstrated this time was a blue-emitting device, and a demonstration was also conducted at Display Week 2024. In addition to the blue-emitting device, we will continue to develop green and red devices with the same high directionality and color purity.
